The Value Of Precious~
Today marks the start of my Arise and Build weekend~ And wat an awesome day it has been! First of, i just wanna thank God for bringing me back to my own svc, svc 6, since 4 consecutive weeks of not being able to attend it due to NS commitments! And wow, wat a week He has chosen to bring me back to my own service - the start of Arise & Build!
Pst Kong delivered one of the best sermons today dat really impacted me so much.. i'm still in a state of aftershock haha! But yeah, i tell you the anointing of the Lord and His presence was extremely powerful today in the service! I felt it as we were praising and worshipping and when pst started to preach, i felt it even more!
Pst preached on 'value' today. Yeah and basically he talked about how the world valuates things and how God valuates things. The world's way of ascribing value is so TOTALLY different from dat of God's, because God's ways are higher than men's! When a rich man donates millions of dollars to a charitable cause, many ppl would be impressed and would applaud dat, but God in heaven simply yawns at it! To God, the quantity of dat offering is worth NOTHING!
You see, God owns everything in this world.. to us, millions of dollars is of great value, but to Him.. it is NOTHING.. He has all the power and all the wealth in this world! Someone like Bill Gates might be able to give 3-5 billion dollars for charity of some cancer research or something.. but yeah to God dat is nothing.. and i believe to Bill GAtes, dat is like nothing for him too.. because He is worth 40over billion! He can afford to give 3-5 billion.. because he is giving out of his abundance! And God is not moved by dat.. 3 billion 5 billion.. so wat eh? To God, no big deal!
And then pst gave us 3 examples of 3 widows in the bible.. all of whom faced different obstacles and situations but all had one thing in common - they sacrificed wat was most precious to them~ The widow and the 2 mites (like 2 cents), gave all of dat.. and Jesus applauded her attitude and sacrifice! The widow of Zarephath and her son were on the verge of certain death from hunger facing one of the worse droughts in their time because they had barely enough food and water, but she obeyed the man of God Elijah's instructions and God blessed her with more than enough dat her flour and oil reserves supernaturally held on without running dry until the drought was over. The last example was the woman who anointed Jesus's feet with a sweet smelling perfume! Dat perfume represented her dowry. Pst told us in those times, every Jewish girl was given a flask of very expensive perfume to be used for her wedding. It is like a passport to her marriage with a man. I.e it's like her ticket to a better life. She gave dat all up when she poured it out on Jesus's feet.
The one common thing in all these women, was their attitude of giving and sacrificing IN SPITE OF the very unfavourable circumstances they were in. And dat is wat touches the heart of God. You see, the widow who gave her LAST 2 cents.. gave it ALL! 100% ALL of it to God.. and she had absolutely nothing left after dat. And she needed God's intervention in her life to provide for her needs. The same with the other two women. They gave up something dat was extremely dear and precious to them! So precious dat, their lives literally depended on it! And pst said something which really hit me smack right thru the face.. He said dat if you are not willing to give up and let go of wat is precious in your life, then you can NEVER experience the 100 fold blessing.. the point is, if you arent willing to give God your best, your all, then you are not worthy to serve Him. The bible says dat the man who puts his hand on the plough and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God.
There comes a point in our lives when we will definitely ascribe a value to something SO GREAT dat the value of the thing becomes invaluable.. it becomes PRICELESS.. it becomes PRECIOUS.. and dat is why the bible also says dat where our treasure is, there our heart will also be! Which is absolutely true because, if you have invested your life, your money into some area.. OF COS, your time and attention spent on dat area is definitely quite substantial! If you bought a new Mitsubishi Evolution IX, man i tell you.. YOUR HEART WILL BE ON IT! Why? Because i know my heart would be on it if i ever bought such a car with MY OWN hard earned $$~ Dats why it is so impt where we put our treasure. Is it wrong to invest in such a car? Is it a sin? No it is not. God just doesnt want us to be controlled by the things of this world. Not to be sucked into the pleasures of the world! So yes you can go ahead and buy ur dream car or dream house or watever! But God DOESNT want it to control your life :) And the time comes when God might ask you, "Sell away dat car, and give it all to Me, to build me a great house," And dat is is the time when your faith and your love for God will be tested. Are you willing to let go of the precious in your life? And give it up to God?
I asked myself dat today and throughout the sermon, man.. i tell you.. i was compelled to sacrifice more! Deep down i was really struggling against it.. but in the end God prevailed. And by the end of the sermon and the offering time.. God spoke to me to increase my amount.. but i believe over the next few months.. this amount will rise.. i have a feeling about dat. Pst said dat if you are giving an amount and you don't feel dat it costs you anything.. then you're most likely just tipping God or giving to Him out of your abundance.. and dat is not a sacrificial offering. I constantly asked myself, 'Does this amount really mean anything to me??'
So pst also mentioned dat when you come to the point whereby your heart starts to feel uneasy and uncertain and when you really really feel the pinch, then you can surely know dat dat is the point where you are starting to make a real sacrificial giving to the Lord. Because dat is when you are giving your most precious to God! And no matter how much we give, we can NEVER outgive God! Watever we place in His hands, He is able to take and multiply back a hundred fold to us! As the message was coming to a close.. my heart was struggling so much and i was battling against doubt and uncertainty and fear.. but i just trusted God with it and i went ahead and increased the amount.. And this time i really cried so hard as i put in my first portion of the building fund.. i mean, i know dat the amount i pledged earlier is some sort of sacrifice but yet for me, i felt dat i could sacrifice more. I felt dat God meant so much more to me dat i should be able to give Him much more of my life! And yeah this time, i cried real hard giving away wat was precious to me, because on one hand it meant so much to me and on the other hand i was uncertain how i was gonna continue to raise more money.
And then later on after svc, i went to town with Joachim my first drum student, yes i said FIRST haha! Well you know why later on :P Yea i went with him to get a metronome for him and in the end we got a really good deal for a tuner cum metronome! So thank God for the great deal and after dat i also had the chance to bless him with a meal and yeah thank God for dat; earlier on i blessed my own cg with drinks too and yeah it felt really great being able to bless ppl with $$ you know? it's a real joy :D Yeah, and i wanna continue to do dat even in teh midst of this building fund project! Because i know dat wat i am doing now is a test of my love for God and my faith in Him, and dat some day He is gonna bless me with the ability to give thousands upon thousands of dollars to ppl!~ I know He will enlarge my capacity to bless the ppl around me~
Well guess wat, i came home and i made a phone call to this guy who wanted to learn drums from me. He's an elderly chap and he wanted to learn drums because he wanted to serve in his church's music ministry! Man i tell you, dat was so encouraging because it showed me dat age is NO barrier to serving God amen! And also, it showed me dat God is able to use me to make a difference in His kingdom by using my talent to serve Him! It also showed me dat it only takes A WILLING HEART and a CAN DO ATTITUDE for God to use us in a great way! You see, God looks at the heart and the attitude. When he sees dat all we want to do is to put him as first and only, then you can be sure dat He will provide the means and ways to see you thru!
Yeap, so wow.. i told you i was on a verge of a breakthrough and yeah it's only BEGINNING! I'll share more and more as and when i receive yet another revelation or blessing or BOTH! And oh.. yeah did i tell you dat my dad is most likely gonna be blessing me with a brand new car to drive instead of a 2nd hand one?? Right now, he wants to drive a 2nd hand car instead and leave me to drive the brand new car! I dunno but we will probably go test drive a car sometime this weekend~ Yeah, so now you know how blessed I actually am eh? Hahha! Praise the Lord! Well, just bless others and you will be blessed. Give unto others and you will be given~ Just seek first the kingdom of God, AND ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE ADDED UNTO YOU! Amen!!
