Maiden Voyage

This week's been one tough one.. this week and last. With OCS rehearsals almost every day and all, it does get pretty tiring. The hardest parts about parades are not the music or the marching as i found out during my first OCS parade. The toughest part is standing without moving and enduring without fainting for like a long time. Yes dat's the point whereby even officer cadets and commandos have been known to collapse.

Well, OCS parade was a real relief after it was over.. But first, we marched up to our starting point from the holding area, and yeah within a few minutes, the advance call was sounded and the parade began. So we played, we marched.. yeah basically the numerous rehearsals really kicked in after dat. Everything was great.

By the time it came for the minister's speech though, it was starting to get to me. And it didnt help dat my P cap was sitting pretty tight around my head and it was giving me a local headache on my left side.. after the speech was over and all, we played one final slow march for those cadets to march out and boy dat slow march was wat seemed like eternity man.. i was like running out of breath trying to sustain my notes and all.. and yeah at some points i just paused to catch my breath.. and in my mind i was like 'if this goes on any longer i think i might just blackout from the monotonity.

And finally after those fellas marched out.. it was time for the band to march out as well, and yeah when we started playing the last and final march piece, i was like totally relieved man haha! it was like 'okie we're going home'! And i just gritted my teeth and bared with the headache a little while more and finally yeah we were out of the picture! It was a good experience though~ not the toughest of parades yet but yeah tough enough.

It was the strength from the Lord dat sustained me~ Praise God :D

Another really important matter regarding my big time decision. I spoke to my Director of Music about signing on and stuff and i specifically asked him whether or not i was allowed to take a year or 2 off from my bond to study something else and yes i am actually able to do so without being paid for dat period. It's like super long unpaid leave. As for those years i took off, i just have to repay them back in service! Now dat's a leap i tell you, because that's been a major deciding factor in my decision to sign. I was worried i couldnt take time off to enrol in SOT but hey seems dat God has provided a perfect way!

So yes, in due time my prayers have been answered :D And yea, when it comes to this thing about signing on, i'm always getting a sense of peace~ Once i get my driver's license, dat'll further save me alot of time and trouble if i ever have to zip down from camp to church or home or anywhere~ So yeah, no more worries about booking back in camp at 2359! hahaha! So yea, and i just realised.. the month is now April.. AND THIS MEANS THE APPLICATION TO SIGN ON HAS REOPENED ONCE MORE! PERFECT TIMING!

God really makes things happen in His own perfect timing~ So yes, my decision to sign on is pretty much set :D i'll never forget the real reason why i decided to sign on in the first place, and that is in line with my vision :D
