Short Cuts Not
Matthew 17:13-14 "You can enter God's Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way. 14 But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it." (NLT)
Just wanna share something which i picked up during drum class yesterday with Bro Boon and the rest of the gang. There are no such things as short cuts to success in life. And dat goes for anything no matter how significant or insignificant they may be.. Wanna be a doctor? Then go study long years for it and not resort to buying a fake cert. Wanna be a great drummer? Then work hard at it. Wanna be a great leader? Work at it, and there's no short cut to success.
By taking the short cuts in life, you miss out on a great and exciting journey dat God has planned for you. And why cut short ur destiny? Why short change yourself of all the great things which He has in store for you? Hardly worth it aint?
The same goes for relationships in life, promotion in a company etc etc. Most of all, this goes for our walk with God :) There are no short cuts in our walk with God. If you wanna draw close to Him, you gotta make effort to do so. Growth in our walk with Him doesnt come by sitting down and dreaming about it.. No, it takes much action, much communing with Him, much studying of His Word and application in our lives, much prayer, much praise and worship, much obedience, much faith :)
Simply put, if we don't work towards our relationship with God, slowly we move further from Him. We slowly backslide without even realising it yea? And we need to slay this lion in our life - the lion of laziness. Laziness makes us slack, and it robs us from the things God has in store for us, if only we would work hard to bring it out into the open :) Otherwise, we just lose it. And everything is subject to change, once something changes, the previous opportunity is lost. So don't be someone who loses the opportunity to be the great man or woman of God which God has called you to be!
Opportunities from God are precious and they don't come knockin on our doors everyday. So, we gotta be diligent and vigilent. And you do dat by intertwining your spirit with God's. This is done through communing with Him in Spirit in your prayer closet and in ur worship of Him. Learn to communicate with Him and allow Him to speak wonderful things into your life. Don't be impatient in waiting on Him :) When He arrives, He'll sweep you off your feet!
Experiencing wat it's like to fall in love all over again, with Jesus of cos :D Seeking after Him in the matters in different areas of my life and just communing with Him. It's lovely spending time alone just worshipping Him, singing new song after new song to Him and just speaking in tongues to Him! It's a feeling, it's an experience you cant replace with any other thing in life :) Nothing comes close! Well, i'm so looking forward to friday's overnight prayer meeting :D See you there!
