First Love
Wanna thank God for the safety during my driving revisions and i wanna say dat it was great even after being away from driving for so long~ But God as always is gracious and wonderful and He makes all things possible for those who can trust Him to provide for them amen?
And i have the confidence and faith in His strength dat He'll see me thru the driving test which i'll be taking this tuesday afternoon. Even if i have the worse of testers sitting next to me, or the weather goes real bad, or if there are random road users out there dat just make things difficult for me, i still choose to place my trust and hope in Him in this test. Praise God for dat :D
Today's cg message was incredible.. And i mean it cos it's so impactful. Thank God for giving me a memory dat can remember His goodness towards me, His words to me, and the victory dat He has given to us thru the blood of His Son Jesus Christ~ But wat struck me the most, is dat we must remember the first love we had for Jesus.
You know.. all dat we do.. our dreams, our ministries, our careers, our service, our going to church and cg, our talents and gifts.. all of them are meaningless if we're not in love with Jesus more and more each day! i still remember clearly how much and how intense i had a desire to study the Word, pray, go to church, go for overnite prayer meets, go for mission trips, how much i love bible study and would pester mervyn for it, how badly i wanted to get baptised, how i would spend much money buying the latest messages on cd just to listen, how i earnestly blogged and blogged about the revelations God had given to me etc etc.. And i remember how much of a passion and fire i had for Him when i first got borned again.
However, i must say dat throughout my short christian walk with God for about 1 1/2 years.. i did have my ups and downs.. and on my down days.. i lose my passion to do the above things. I still have a fire for the things of God, but the fire experienced some dwindling before and sometimes threatened to burn out. However, God has been so faithful and gracious throughout even though many times i was a let down. Instead of moving upwards, i either stopped moving or stood back.
Things however started to take a turn for me especially recently in this building fund period. Slowly, i can feel dat fire starting to burn brighter and hotter and more intense than before :D Yes, i can feel a revival in my spirit~ I can feel God stroking the fire and fanning the flames more! Yes, i want to grow from glory to glory, from strength to strength and faith to faith in Him! All the talents and gifts and money and wat not in my life mean absolutely NOTHING, if my love for Him dun abound more and more each day.
I love Obed-Edom who is mentioned in the bible.. very similar to the character of David whereby everywhere the presence of God went, he also sought after! And dat's really it ya know.. to seek the presence of God all the days of your life! No matter wat we do where we are, God is there and we needa reach out to Him every moment of our lives. In the good times or bad, i just wanna learn to put my faith in Him and rely upon Him more than ever before..
Indeed, the song which we sing, "Breathe", the bridge is this: 'Everyday of my life, I will wait on You. In Your presence my heart and strength renew. Every moment i live, i will worship You. You've saturated my soul, my heart flows rivers of living water!' Just within these few words in the bridge says so much already! Every day of my life.. Everyday.. I will wait on the Lord. Wait for the Holy Spirit to come upon me and renew every part of my being, my mind, my body, my soul. Wait for the Lord to refresh me and anoint me everyday with His oil. Because in the presence of the Lord, miracles happen. Creativity sparks, broken spirits are healed, demons flee, reconciliation takes place, renewal, revival begins etc.. dats why we need His presence everyday, so dat in His presence, we can allow Him to speak to us His new Word of Rhema into our lives. To get the direction from Him how to live our lives for tmrw.
Every moment i live, i will worship You. Yes, this sums up wat worship is all about. worship is not a 20 min act of closing your eyes and lifting up ur hands and singing to God.. no not only dat.. worship is more. Worship is a lifestyle, a lifestyle which we must live out each and every moment in our life! 24/7. whenever we eat or drink, watever we do, even when we sleep, we must constantly worship Him. Dat's why the apostle Paul tells us dat in watever we do, whether we eat or drink, give glory to God! Exactly :D Dat is living out a lifestyle of praise and worship, of thanksgiving :) Every breath we breathe, every step we take, all glory be unto the Lord!
And when we dwell in His presence everyday of our lives, when we worship Him in spirit and in truth 24/7, He comes and saturates our souls and out of our hearts pour forth His living water! Being filled with the Holy Spirit, we are so blessed we just cant contain it, and out of our hearts will pour forth this living water of which we can touch and change the lives of the ppl around us! Dat is how we impact the nations! Our cups runneth over with the Holy Spirit and when ppl see the new us, they start wonderin wat on earth we've been doing.. and slowly, when they look at their own lives and problems which they face, they all look towards you as the solution. Because they see in you a powerful thing, dat can change lives for the better :) They see in you, the likeness of Christ :) They see the Saviour in you :D
My frens in CHC, you know wat guys, we can be the 2nd largest church in Asia, have the best auditorium in town, have the best ministers and speakers, we can have the best sermons preached to us and the best equipment and facilities. We can have album after album and launch artiste and artiste out there into the world. But if we all lose dat first love for Christ just like the church of Ephesus, then wat good will all these things be? They would have meant nothing :)
If i lost all my memory, i just ask for one thing to remember, and dat is wat Christ did for me on the cross way back 2 millenia~ Surely it wasnt cheap and it didnt come for free because God paid for it with His own Son's life! If a situation called for you to sacrifice a life, in this case, your own, for someone who is utterly vile and evil and who by any human standards aint worth anything, would you do it? I believe dat 99.99% of us wouldnt do it. And even if we would, we would really give it some serious thought. But Jesus was dat 0.01% who went to the cross willingly, and suffered and died so dat through His death, everyone good or bad can say hello to eternal life when they turn to Him. Has that ever crossed ur mind, the extent to which Christ loved us so much? *nods* So easy to take for granted yeah?
So let everyday be like a Good Friday, let us remind ourselves daily wat Christ did for us, which is why we can be alive today. As for me, i'm gonna claw my way back to a higher level in my walk with God :D i'm gonna seek His presence to a greater extent this time~ Yea, i'm gonna start an inferno burning within me!
