Being The Right One :)

Today.. well wat can i say.. today was probably one of the best days this year yet :D

First, thank God dat today's chinese svc was good :) I played for the worship part and wow the presence of God was strong in the svc! Rehearsal wasn't so good last nite BUT I am really thankful dat even though as a band we made a number of mistakes.. despite all of dat, God still showed up in a big way.

Today, my love tank's full! Cos i had 2 strong words of affirmation from different ppl. First of all, someone commented not once but twice that i dressed really well all the time and that in this person's opinion, i was the best dressed drummer in church :D Hahaha!

Another person told me dat i did a good job on the drums today. This same person also said so of the last few times i played for chinese svc. It's great! Cos i used to get quite a lot of flak from this dude regarding my inability to flow properly etc.. But praise the Lord things are beginning to change for the better!

Funny thing is, the comments just came out of the blue.. like i seriously wasnt expecting it? But it was a genuine and nice compliment.. so in my heart i was like wow thank you very very much. You just spoke one of my love lingos~ So by the time svc was up today.. man i felt like i was floating in the 3rd heaven hahaha! It's really easy to make my day :) you can either give me a block of good quality time, OR more easily, just speak a word of genuine affirmation :) Dat's all~ I'm a simple guy. Really. ROFL!

After svc, i went to watch Slumdog Millionare with my CG. And boy was it a GOOD SHOW! Fantastic! I totally enjoyed it! You gotta watch it for yourself to find out.. But it was definitely good money spent :)

You know wat.. this entire weekend has been such a blessing. Thank God for Dr Kevin Dyson. I learnt a whole lot this wkend. Let me just list down wat has been burning strongly in my heart:

1. The goal of marriage is really to become more Christ-like.

2. It is NOT about finding the right person (cos you never will). It is about BECOMING dat right person yourself.

3. It's not about looking at my needs, and asking my partner to fulfill them. It is about looking at HER NEEDS and seeing how i can fulfill them.


These lessons i've learnt have once again assured me and confirmed that i am on the right track regarding wat i believe in. It's amazing.. I actually love marriage counselling ALOT! I mean.. i believe i am in a better position today than yesterday to give some wise advice regarding relationships to someone who may need it. Like on thursday night, while fellowshipping with a bunch of ppl after emerge drama rehearsal. I helped a fellow sister understand her situation better. Hopefully, after dat 'counsel' she'll be able to decide wat's best for next :)

More than just knowing the theory.. wat good is it if all we know is head knowledge yea? So, i decided dat i'm gonna put these principles to practice even more so than before :)

Sometimes you ask people why aren't they getting married or attached when at their age, they are more than eligible? Well, they may say.. well i haven't really found the right guy/girl yet.. i'm just waiting for him/her to appear.. Well guess wat we learnt today eh? Dat just doesn't happen! The knight in shining armour, the girl from ipanema? Nah..

Ever heard about the law of attraction? Well it's pretty quite simple actually.. Nice ppl attract nice ppl. Positive ppl attract positive ppl. Winners attract winners as do losers attract losers.

And guess wat.. right ppl attract.. RIGHT PEOPLE! Yeah, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure that one out~ Do unto ur neighbour wat you want done unto u :) If we can learn to meet the needs of people, we will find success in everything we do :) It's dat simple. Really.
