Love Profile
In just a short space of a month and a half, i have accomplished something dat is quite a feat for me personally. I have finished reading 3 books this year already.. :D Dat's the first time in my life dat i have read dat many books in such a short period of time.
I just wanna say dat if you are gonna be reading anything this year, may i suggest the following titles - Boy Meets Girl by Joshua Harris, His Needs Her Needs by Dr Willard F. Harley and The Five Love Languages for Singles by Dr Gary Chapman.
I have learnt SO MUCH in this short period of time. One of my goals this year is to be a better person in my relations with others and as you can see, i have been putting in alot of effort :)
These books will help you understand the people around you better and help you become more effective in your relations with them. And they will also teach you many good truths and lessons which will stick with you for life :) You will almost certainly become better at relating to people if you apply the teachings in these books. So whether you wanna be a better friend, better lover, better son or daughter, better wife, better husband, better boss, better employee, be better at relating to the opposite sex.. watever, these books are for you :)
The first step in relating to people is to first understand yourself as a person and dat is wat i did with these books. I have discovered many things which affirmed wat i have been believing in as well as new discoveries which signaled to me a change in my outlook in life.
Without a shadow of a doubt i have identified my emotional needs and love languages. I have a strong need especially for affection and conversation. Dat's no surprise since my primary love language is quality time and not far behind my secondary love language is words of affirmation. I find myself speaking these 2 languages very often. Other emotional needs include honesty/openess, recreational companionship and admiration. Other needs mentioned in His Needs Her Needs are currently unapplicable to me because i am not married yet :)
One of the most surprising discoveries for me was to find dat my love language has shifted slightly in some areas. Having done a love language profile, i found out dat acts of service which used to rate highly in my love bank have swapped positions with gifts and physical touch which used to be the least! I have equal scores for both gifts and physical touch while acts of service have become the least of my love languages. My primary love language of quality time has remained as it while words of affirmation saw the highest gain ever.
It has indeed been a great journey discovering more about myself. I still am learning alot of new things as i work towards becoming a better person :) So i really urge you to grab a hold of these books and read them for yourself. If you wanna win people over to you, you gotta learn how to express love in the right way and trust me it'll be some of the best investments you'll ever make for your life.
