Japanese In Manga Land
First post of the new year 2008 and let me start off by saying Happy New Year!
This post is gonna be quite brief. I wanna introduce a series of books which i find are really cool and not your conventional textbook type of japanese language book :)
Introducing, the Japanese in Mangaland series!

These books teach the language via manga examples. Initially, i was quite skeptical about these books mainly becos i wasnt a fan of manga and i was thinking in my mind, just wat kind of japanese can i learn from manga examples...?
Well, apparently, my prejudice was put in its place. I read the 2nd book in the series and found it extremely useful! Needless to say, i learnt alot of colloqual grammatical structures and so on.
The explanations in the book were also very much in detail and easy to understand. I was hooked in the first few pages already. What's more, the way in which the author breaks down and explains grammar structures is exactly how i would explain them to others - precise and clear (and much more)! So dat was another plus point for me :D
This series gives the reader a very different approach in learning Japanese. It is unlike any conventional japanese language text. If you like manga, then you will certainly appreciate this series. Even if you dun like manga, but are looking for a good resource to learn Japanese.. Well i would also recommend these :D
One thing though, these books have made me look at manga in a different light :) A positive light i may add~
