Curve It Baby~
Scum of the earth.. i've been playin on reeds too hard for my own good. i'm goin back to square one starting at a 2 or 2.5 strength V16. the whole baffle was reshaped also. instead of a sharp drop, i had it curve gradually instead. this time it took away the edge slightly and the sound was warmer and more mellow. the balance between brilliance and warmness was now more equal than before. the very first baffle untouched had a lot of edge to it and was really bright.
right now, it's just chiselling away at the sides to remove extra epoxy stuck there.. gotta do dat slowly.. i currrently have around 15 or so dollars in my wallet. dat leaves me needin bout $45 more dollars. yes i need 45 bucks. i'm just waitin for good news about my cues. i sold all of em. or rather, sellin all of em. hopefully i can fetch around $500 in total.
i never realised how tough it is to get a good sounding tone out of the horn. crap man, doesnt seem dat i've made much improvement. at least not improvement in consistency. my embouchures gotten pretty gd. i just gotta refine my grip and positionin. and my lower lip support still suffers a lack of. today was gd and bad. gd cos we got a few things sorted out pretty much but not so gd cos i've got a couple of damned ulcers to deal with, one of which is directly on my lower lip which makes gripping quite painful.
USE DA DAMN DIAPHRAGM TO SUPPORT THE AIR WILL YOU?!? i better start studyin how opera singers sing. how they use their diaphragm, intercostal muscles, throat muscles and wat not to achieve a huge consistent and nice tone. i needa do the same with the sax. not easy. i cant sing for nuts. i tend to use the throat. i needa learn how to isolate the diaphragm and use dat only.
and in the meantime dat damned ulcer. i'm goin back to do my thing.
