Careless Whisper - Wham & George Michael

I HAVE to blog this one down. The solo i was talkin about? very easy actually. The key of this song is in concert F which makes the key to be played on the sax D. it's just transposition of 3 semitones down. startin from F down to E, Eb, D. 3 semitones. easy. I did some research on this song and it topped the charts in the July of 1984! Whoa! Same month same year as i was borned in~ it has since then remained a classic and a favourite to the ears of many :)

There are 3 parts or solos which the saxophonist plays. here goes.

Anyway the solo is transposed in alto saxophone part first:
This colour indicates notes with octave key (higher register)
This colour indicates notes without octave key (lower register)

DONE! dat's the part for the sax solo done with piano~

Now here is where all the solos go in this song:

Time can never mend,
The careless whispers of a good friend.
To the heart and mind,
If your answers kind...
Theres no comfort in the truth,
Pain is the hole youll find.

Should've known better, yeah...

(First Solo)

I feel so unsure,
As I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor.
As the music dies...
Something in your eyes,
Calls to mind the silver screen,
And all its sad goodbyes.

Chorus
Im never gonna dance again,
Guilty feet have got no rhythm.
Though its easy to pretend,
I know youre not a fool.
I should have known better than to cheat a friend,
And waste a chance that Id been given.
So Im never gonna dance again,
The way I danced with you.
Oh oo ohh..

Time can never mend,
The careless whisper of a good friend.
To the heart and mind,
If your answers kind...
Theres no comfort in the truth,
Pain is the hole youll find.

Repeat chorus

(Second Solo)

What am I without your love?

(end of Second Solo)

Tonite the music seems so loud,
I wish that we could lose this crowd.
Maybe its better this way,
Wed hurt each other with the things we want to say.

We could have been so good together,
We could have lived this dance forever...
But now, whos gonna dance with me?
Please stay.
(alternatively):
And now its never gonna be
That way...

Repeat chorus

(Third Solo)

Now that youre gone...
Now that youre gone...
Now that youre gone...
Was what I did so wrong?
So wrong that you had to leave me alone?

Damn, i once told myself way back dat if i did pick up the sax, this solo is gonna be the first i'm gonna learn and yea i've sorta gotten the whole melody. Now it's just fine tuning the solo with all those slurs, note bending, vibrato etc etc. dat's the difficult part :)
