Average White Band

Yesterday night was some good night man~ Haha! Many things happened and i'm happy~
It was my first time jamming with a band with saxophone. And also the first time, i've ever
heard myself being recorded. I sounded as if i was playing a harmonica man.. haha~ but
dat's because of the micing of the sax. The was only a voice microphone available so
naturally dat didnt catch the lower frequencies of the horn's dynamic range thus i sounded
thin.

But anyway, it was blues, funk and soul dat we did last nite. Stuff from Average White Band,
Casiopea, and a few i cant remember. The groove was in the house last nite man! Jammed
with the drummer Kalai, guitarist Daniel and Reggie the bassist. The drummer and bassist
were damn tight last nite. It was a rock solid foundation man~ These guys are good man.
Great musical ideas, great chord progressions, and all are pretty technically skilled~

Except for me being the least of all of them as a musician haha~ I'm fresh man~ fresh :D I
need to work on many things still~ Didnt do any solos haha, did fill-ins most of the time~ I
was not dat confident playing~ but grew more comfortable later on~ When in doubt, play
less :D It was a great experience? Did i mention dat already? ok yeah~ trying to listen to
each other, giving space, expressing.. i like the band's chemistry~ These guys were very
happy i turned up haha cos they've always wanted to jam with a saxophonist~ I'm glad i
joined them last nite also :) If things go well? I might just play more often with them~ But
currently, i'm sticking to my goals first. MDC and all~ Continue with my classical repetoire :)
