Too Damn Impatient
Yea.. dat i was~ Was too damn impatient to wait for Boon Chye to balance my horn so i attempted
it myself~ used the new hard rubber mouthpiece, had some screws tightened or loosened, fixed
the leaks on the F#, F, E and low B pads. had to do some work around the lower register where the
notes were the hardest for me to get and so from D downwards, i had to figure out which screw to
tighten and all.
Prior to dat, there was this wavering on my low Bb note and it sounded like vibrato which you didnt
want at all! anyway i found the damn culprit. it was a loose screw at the low Bb/B key guard! so i
tightened dat properly and viola! no more wavering low Bb! so basically i just adjusted screws on
the lower third half of the horn and right now, my low and mid-low register plays with so much power!
It's like wow a huge difference from before! the mid register itself is stable and easy to blow and the
high register was easy too! but the good thing overall is dat all 3 registers maintained a certain
degree of 'sizzle' to the sound which is wat i wanted! Awesome man~ i love experimenting with stuff
like dat~ just not too much :D
