A Penny For Your Thoughts

I feel... different these days.. the same 'to- be-in-love', 'butterflies-in-stomach' feeling i had about
a week or so back has diminished~ i feel like back to normal, and it's like i'm back to the drawing
board, doing my usual stuff~ like the sax and other more impt things. well, dat actually is a good
thing i found out~ hahaha! you tend to be more rational, you become more in touch with wat's
around u and yeah for once you're thinkin clearer~ well not dat i havent been thinkin about stuff
clearly, no, i'm always thinkin bout stuff but now i know how to make sense of it~ and sometimes
when you're in 'love', u dun think straight~

These days, my mind's occupied with the thought of first and foremost my family. They're finally
back, thank god for them~ and then of cos sax as usual and then web enrolment which happens
in a few days time.. and then, i thought of my career. Yeah, they say dat a man should put his
career as one of the top priorities in his life~ i completely agree :) especially when you're just
startin out rock bottom. After it's established, it can take a lesser priority~

I was just thinking of forming a jazz, fusion, and freestyle kinda band where anything goes. Was
thinkin about some fusion band sort where there can be indian tabla, african djembe, aussie
didgeridoo and modern sax and flute etc. Such ethnic style music doesnt have much of a following
i think. And i guess it's gonna be hard to find ppl who share the same views and ideas about jazz,
although difference in opinion can be a great spawn of creativity.

Was just thinkin wat it'll be like to busk during the day with a bunch of guys each of us playing our
own instrument and creating some really new musical ideas~ dun think anyone has seen anyting
like dat in s'pore, whereas it's common in other countries like Aust, states and such~ we can wear
our pyjamas and busk hahahahha! i dun give a damn really, so long as we can busk all day as and
when we like and maybe we can approach some reputable record company or sumthin. not gonna
be easy definitely. the music's gotta have some real draw to it and has gotta be quality stuff~

If i dun find anyone locally, i'll definitely find a gang in canada during my study there~ and yea i've
decided dat canada's vancouver is the place for me~ it's cheaper but definitely more quality because
it's easier and quicker to grow musically in the environment of Capilano. Wat better area than to
study in Vancouver where the freestyle and experimentation of jazz in canada is located? So many
foreign musicians bring their influence and their culture over to fuse with each other and give birth
to new forms of music! it's just absolutely ideal!

Did my calculations and stuff also and realised dat it is still more expensive if i studied Down Under.
Tuition's gonna be more ex, lifestyle wise quite the same. But where music is concerned, opportunity
in canada is definitely higher cos it's easier to get transfered to another music sch in the states, or
basically, it's easy to get opportunities across the border~ If all works out well, i will definitely stay
put in Vancouver and realise my dreams there~ Hm.. are all these too much to ask for this Christmas??
hahaha! Well, i leave it to the hands of my Maker~ wherever he takes me, i will go :)
