One Step Closer To Heaven
I'm happy to say dat i've managed to achieve my goal of playing all my 36 scales and the ascending
and descendng scale at 150bpm~ yeah! Also, i've cleared all my arpeggio exercises at 90bpm in
triplets! Wonderful~
I'm just waiting to learn more expression techniques like the growl, flutter tongue, thrill, and also
learn to increase my range in time to come. I know how to produce the growl and the fluttertongue
but i wanna be sure dat i'm doing the technique in the right way~ these are really cool weapons to
include in the arsenal~ More so than any other thing i'd like to master, is the altissimo or high notes.
Saxophones can only technically play a range of 2 and a half octaves. It is possible to increase this
range to 3 octaves or 3 and half octaves or even more.
As such, altissimo is a must for every sax player, or any wind player for dat matter~ but it is a very
advanced technique dat should only be attempted after the development of a very stable and firm
embouchure as it requires utmost control of the embouchure, throat, and air stream speed and
pressure. And then, there is also the subtone which i'm working at~
There's so much to be done and it's all about sounding like i've played for years :) and to sounds
like dat, takes a hell lot of effort. To achieve the level of 8 years of skill and experience by 6 months,
now dat gives a whole new meaning to the term crash course. I honestly honestly dare not dream
of anything but just to concentrate on learning as much as much stuff i can. it's truly scary, the
thought of it all but yet exciting? I really love the thrill of the whole accelaration and all, and i embrace
the challenge!
