Glissando.. Vibrato.. Crescendo.. Legato.. Fortissimo.. Pianissimo.. Expressivo..

Today's lesson was one of the better showing ones~ Learnt more about Glissando or consecutive
running notes and learnt also which parts of a tune to accent and amplitude fluctuations and
crecendos and decrecendos/diminuendos, note bending also which i figured out by myself, heheh
*grinz*. There's just a great deal to expression in the sax and it's most alike the human voice so
you do all those Mariah Carey stuff which is really good for expression :) David Sanborn is one
great expressive Alto player.

Scale practices are great for glissando practise~ accending or descending up the chromatic scale
is also another good one, but must be done softly since it is not the focus. The beginnings and
ends of a certain part of the song are more impt. And another thing learnt, is dat the starting note
should have more body, and more firmness. Also, lower notes should have more volume while the
highs should be pulled back slightly in volume.

Besides those, i switched from size 2 up to 2.5~ now it's a much better tone and stronger sound
and louder also. More powerful too. Also, had the bow area where the screws were adjusted, they
were too loose and when i tried my 2.5s on them, there was so much resistance i couldnt get a
sound. Rite now, it's just beautiful! i'm happy with the current setup.

My instructor got himself a really good sax :D Yes, he and i are using the same saxophones and
we sound damn alike haha which is like er..... hehe~ But i believe he's gonna do some adjustment
to it to bring out even more life from the sax. Yeah, without a doubt, the best saxophone on the
planet today is the Yamaha YAS 82Z and dat's why i use it~ YEAH! Hahaha~ no regrets watsoever
gettin a Yamaha man~ Best choice of saxophone! Kudos to the Yamaha Corporation for developing
such a brilliant saxophone!
