Superstar
This was one of the songs done by Ruben Studdard in American Idol 2 and personally i felt he did a damn good job at this song~ one of those dat etched in my mind~
Anyway, this came back to me just today when i bought myself a new album "Pearls" by David Sanborn. As for this particular album, it's a whole lot of smooth in it. Very unlike the other 2 albums i got. It's got 2 of my fav tracks on it though, "Nobody Does It Better" with Oleta Adams on piano and vocals~ and Sanborn's very own improvised version of "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes". I think you gotta listen to it for yourself to be able to believe how good this piece of improvisation is~ This guy can really whip up all sorts of emotions in you~ His sound and his playin just makes you feel for the music~ I just love the way, he speaks with the instrument and conveys his ideas across~
These are the lyrics to the song by leon russell & bonnie bramlett:
Long ago, and, oh, so far away
I fell in love with you before the second show.
Your guitar, it sounds so sweet and clear, but you're not really here.
It's just the radio.
Don't you remember you told me you loved me baby?
You said you'd be coming back this way again baby.
Baby, baby, baby, baby, oh, baby.
I love you, I really do.
Loneliness is such a sad affair, and I can hardly wait to be with you again.
What to say, to make you come again?
Come back to me again, and play your sad guitar.
Now let me go back and listen to the whole thing album once more...
