Some Last Words..

This will be my last post in a long while to come.. will be enlisting tmrw afternoon and will be confined for the first 2 weekends. So i'll only be out on the mid of next month~

Wanna say first of all dat it's been such a time i've had before i enlist. The things i've experienced, the ppl i've met and much more. Most sorely missed of all will be going to church and experiencing the poweful presence of God. Gonna miss the CG meetings, gonna miss the fellowship, my family.. etc.. But i definitely can take comfort in the fact dat i'll be having the Holy Spirit just right beside me no matter wat happens! So i'm going to NS knowing dat God will bless me with favour of men and more.

It is my desire to want to continue serving God in the music ministry in spite of NS. i've been praying about it and it is really wat i wish to do. So if u read this, pls keep me in ur prayers and pray dat i can serve God with the musical talent He's given me. Amen :D

I just wanna leave us all with something the Holy Spirit impressed upon me to write today. And dat is on the topic of pride. Yes, dat evil word which we are all guilty of - PRIDE.

Lucifer - The Quintessential Perfection Who Fell

Pride is the very first sin dat caused Lucifer to become satan the devil. Being the most beautiful angel dat God created, lucifer was like the worship leader in heaven, leading all the angels in one voice to sing praises of the Almighty God. However, inquity was found within him and God cast him down with 1/3 of heavens angels who rebelled against the Lord.

(NKJV) Isaiah 14:12-14 says this:

v12 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!

v13 For you said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north;

v14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'

And Isaiah 14:15 says this:

v15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.

Turn your attention to verse 13. the opening passage says this: "For you said in your heart."

Notice dat Lucifer said IN HIS HEART. He didnt even have to open his mouth to speak the words audibly! All he had to do, was to just think out the words in his heart! And God cast him together with 1/3 of the fallen angels, out of heaven forever!

Look with me at this passage in Ezekiel:

Ezekiel 28:11-19

v11 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me (Ezekiel), saying,

v12 "Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

v13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald, with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created.

v14 "You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.

v15 You were perfect in all your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.

v16 "By the abundance of your trading you bacame filled with violence within, and you sinned; Therefore i cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones.

v17 "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendour; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, that they might gaze at you.

v18 "You defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trading; therefore I brought fire from your midst; it devoured you, and I turned you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who saw you.

v19 All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, and shall be no more forever."'"

In this passage, Ezekiel was prophesying and the Lord gave him a word to the king of Tyre. The king of Tyre was a metaphorical representation of Lucifer or satan. So while Ezekiel was prophesying, God suddenly took him back into the past, like way back before the earth was created and God showed him the downfall of satan.

According to the passage, the Lord GOD said of lucifer dat he was the seal of perfection! Lucifer was the standard of perfection! And the bible tells us dat lucifer was FULL OF WISDOM, and PERFECT in beauty! lucifer was the most beautiful perfect thing dat the Lord God created! Lucifer was adorned with all sorts of precious jewels! you can imagine wat a sight dat must have been, to see the most perfect creation of God!

So lucifer was the symbol of perfection! He looked good, he was smart, he was very attractive. He was basically an awesome beautiful creature!

Look at v14. The bible says dat lucifer was the anointed cherub who covers! Wat does this verse mean? Go with me to Isaiah 6:1-3.

Isaiah 6:1-3 says:

v1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.

v2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

v3 And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!"

Look at verse 2. with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet.. Wat is your face covered before God? Wat is your feet covered before God? It is..? WORSHIP! Exactly! Now lucifer was the ANOINTED cherub who covers! He was the ANOINTED WORSHIP LEADER of heaven! So we've seen how samrt he was, how beautiful he was.. AND NOW.. we see just how TALENTED he was!

Can you imagine just how talented lucifer must have been? He had the perfect talent of leadership! He led ALL the angels in the worship of God Almighty. He must have had a perfect voice! When he sang.. you can imagine the anointing dat flowed forth! He must have had a huge influence on the rest of the angels! He also must have been so talented in making music and playing instruments! He was the perfect example we all want to emulate! He basically had it all! He had the utmost potential to become the greatest angel of all for the Lord!

But God cast him out of heaven as a cursed profane thing! And why??? Was it because he was THE MOST beautiful?? Was God jealous of him?? Or.. maybe it was because he was full of wisdom! Hm.. or how bout because he was extremely talented! But is it a sin to be beautiful?? Is it a sin to be full of wisdom?? Is it a sin the be extremely talented?? NO! NOT AT ALL.

God had absolutely no problem with lucifer being the most beautiful, the wisest and the most talented angel. Not at all! But lucifer caused his own downfall when he said in his heart: "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High!"

See just how full of himself lucifer was? Everything about wat he said was I, I, I, and more I. Me, Myself and I - The Unholy Trinity.

And there was just dat one thing dat was found in him - PRIDE, and dat forever caused him to be cast out of heaven, to be a horror dat is forever no more.

Samson - Of Whom Pride Took Away From The Will Of God

Friends, i speak to us all today because i feel greatly led by the Holy Spirit to blog this down. You see, it is in the will of God for us to be the most beautiful, the most wise, the most talented! BUT, it is in His will for us to be THE MOST of these, so dat by these things, He can display His awesome power! By these things, He can show the world dat indeed, His own children are a people of excellence! Dat by these things, HIS HOLY NAME WILL BE GLORIFIED FOREVER AND EVER!! Hallelujah!

God wants us to maximise our potential! God wants us to live the life dat is full of abundance! God wants THE BEST and THE MOST for us! But so many people today, fail to fulfill the calling God had given them. So many people today FAIL to be the person God willed for them to be. So many people fall short of the mark God set for them. SO MANY PEOPLE FAIL TO MAXIMISE THEIR POTENTIAL IN THE LORD!

Don't be mistaken friends. Doesn't mean that when it is in God's will dat you should become the very person God wants u to be for Him, will you automatically receive it. NO. Absolutely not. It is God's will dat none of us should perish but have eternal life in Him as the bible says. BUT, there are people who still refuse to accept His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ His Son. Who's fault is it? Is it God's fault? Is it the fault of God, dat He didnt will for you to come true?? Absolutely not! It is your fault and yours alone. God gave us all free will to choose. And the bible says dat if you are wise, you will choose wisely :)

I give you another example. In the book of Judges, there is this man named Samson. Very famous character. Look with me in the book of Judges 13:2-5.

v2 Now there was a certain man from Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren and had no children.

v3 And the Angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, "Indeed now you are barren and have borne no children, but you shall conceive and bear a son.

v4 "Now therefore, please be careful not to drink wine or similar drink, and not to eat anything unclean.

v5 "For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines."

We can see in this example, dat God had already called Samson even before his birth, to be a Nazirite for God. Now wat is a Nazirite you may ask? The word 'Nazirite' was used to indicate someone who was separated from the general population and consecrated to God. Nazirites vowed not to consume alcohol, including all products of the grape vine, had uncut hair for a time, and no contact with the dead. Now this was true in the case of Samson, whose strength lay in the secret of his uncut hair.

So Samson was called WAY before he even existed! Just like ALL of us, God has called all of us to eternity with Him way before we were conceived in our mothers' wombs. Our destiny, our calling, our purpose in life, God has already willed, He has already predestined. And we look at a few verses down the same book in verse 24.

It says, v24: So the woman bore a son and called his name Samson; and the child grew, and the Lord blessed him.

Indeed Samson was blessed with great strength and his sole purpose in life was to deliver the Israelites out of the hands of the evil Philistines as seen in verse 5. This was his great calling. His purpose in life! BUT, Samson is THE ONLY Nazirite who FAILED to achieve wat God had destined for him to be. He FAILED to maximise his potential to be used mightily for the Lord! And how many of us know dat when we fail to live up to the standard dat God has set for us, then we have lived.. an absolutely WORTHLESS, MEANINGLESS, GOOD FOR NOTHING life. Yes?

So why did Samson fail? Why did he not fulfill the destiny dat God had called him for? One word to sum it up PRIDE.

Look with me at Judges 16:4, 15-20,

v4 Afterward it happened that he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.

v 15 Then she said to him, How can you say, I love you, when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies.

v 16 And it came to pass, when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death,

v 17 that he told her all his heart, and said to her, No razor has ever come upon my head, for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mothers womb. If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.

v 18 When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up once more, for he has told me all his heart. So the lords of the Philistines came up to her and brought the money in their hand.

v 19 Then she lulled him to sleep on her knees, and called for a man and had him shave off the seven locks on his head. Then she began to torment him, and his strength left him.

v 20 And she said, The Philistines are upon you, Samson! So he awoke from his sleep, and said, I will go out as before, at other times, and shake myself free! But he did not know that the LORD had departed from him.

So Samson got himself a really bad wife in the form of Delilah. And he flirted with danger, he flirted with lust and moreover, he flirted with his own pride. Three times he lied and three times he mocked Delilah. THREE TIMES, he let his pride rule over him.

Now Samson jolly well knew, who his source was. It was God. Samson knew very well, dat his strength was promised and assured to him by God. And Samson took dat for granted. In his pride, he fooled around, he made God look like a fool. In his pride, he disobeyed God, and in his pride, he finally fell out of the will dat God had for him. Isnt dat most sad?

Look at the last part of verse 20. It says dat, he DID NOT KNOW dat the LORD had departed from him He DID NOT KNOW Doesnt it remind us of so many Christians who were once called by the Lord to accomplish great things for his kingdom and yet never did? Or God forbid, does it remind you of you??

The Scourge Within Dat Hinders Us From Fulfilling Our Purpose In Life

You see, sometimes we ask God for breakthroughs in our life, whether financial, or in our studies or in our ministry or in our personal lives, family, relationships with friends, colleagues and even BGR type relationships! And we also ask God for more wisdom, more of His presence, more of Him, more this more that more this more that. But how come we never seem to see dat change in our lives? Why is it dat our relationship with our family members is still so bad? Why is it dat we dun seem to be breaking through financially? Why is it dat we dun seem to be able to go to the next level? HOW COME WE NEVER EVER KNOW WAT GODS PURPOSE FOR US IS??

Friends, I can tell you its because your pride is pulling you away from God. Look, no one is immune to this scourge called pride. NO ONE! And every single day, we are tempted to lift ourselves above, exalt ourselves. How many of us have so much pride, we refuse to forgive our own brothers and sisters in Christ? Even more so, how many of us refuse to forgive our enemies?? Friends this is wat the bible says:

Matthew 5:44,46a:

v 44 (Jesus) But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.

v 46a For if you love those who love you, what reward have you?

It is easy to love people who are easy to love, but Jesus says dat the reward is for those who can love the people who are difficult to love! And in Romans 12: 17-20:

v 17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.

v 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

v 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord.

v 20 Therefore, If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him drink; for in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.

Amen hallelujah! I love wat verse 20 says in the New Living Translation (NLT). It says, in the last part, and they (your enemies) will be ashamed of what they have done to you.

Therefore friends, if we want to see breakthrough in our lives; if we want to see our prayers answered; if we want to maximize our potential in the Lord, then we got to humble ourselves and forgive those who trespass against us! We got to stop pride from eating us from the inside out! For the bible says dat if we do not forgive others for trespassing against us, then our heavenly Father will also NOT forgive us our sins.

Let us not be like the Pharisee in the parable of the Pharisee and tax collector. The prayer of the Pharisee was filled with pride and self exaltation! Do you really believe that God will answer his prayer? Not in his lifetime thats for sure I can tell you~ Likewise, we need to humble ourselves before God EACH AND EVERY DAY in our lives.

We always need to constantly be on red alert. We need to come before God daily and examine our lives and ask Him to purge us of all the pride within. And our lives must demonstrate this in our SPEECH AND ACTION! We cannot say dat we forgive and yet in our speech, we bad mouth the brother who did us wrong, or we refuse to show love and care to him. No my friends, forgiveness is more than just saying, Im sorry. It is showing in our speech and actions dat in spite of what horrible things this brother or sister may have done to us, but yet because Jesus told us to love our enemies, dat is why we must love this brother or sister! Why? BECAUSE, God first demonstrated his love for us, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us! (Romans 5:8) And we love Him because He first loved us! (1 John 4:19)

So therefore dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I urge all of us to come before God daily and ask him to purge all our pride within us. I myself am guilty of this as well. And it doesnt matter whether youre a pastor, a zone supervisor, a cell group leader, a leader in your ministry in church, or whether youre an SOT student! IT AINT MATTER! We are all NOBODIES if not for the precious blood of Christ dat was shed for ALL of us to save us, for which we cant save ourselves for nuts. You can deceive others, you can deceive yourself, BUT YOU CANNOT DECEIVE GOD! Make no mistake about it. Do not be deceived, God is NOT mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he shall also reap. (Galatians 6:7)

So, so wat if youre a pastor? Or ZS? Or CGL? Or SOT student? BFG!! And dat means BIG FAT DEAL! It doesnt matter! If you have pride within you, and someone comes up to you and kindly tells you, then you better search your heart before God and come clean with him! The world says dat you are great if many people serve you. The bible speaks of the exact opposite!

Bible says: But Jesus called them to Himself and said, You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whosoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave just as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. (Matthew 20:25-28)

My Prayer For Us All In CHC

It is my prayer and wish dat all of us in City Harvest, will put aside all the petty differences, the evil pride and all and really achieve our maximized potential in the Lord. I pray dat we will fulfill the destiny dat God has called upon us to, NOT for our own glory, but for GODS GLORY!

We all have had our proud arrogant moments. Some of us still struggle with it greatly. But let us learn from the example of King Nebuchadnezzar, the great king of Babylon, who exalted himself on high saying, (Daniel 4:30) "Is not this the great Babylon, that i have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honour of my majesty?" Notice how centred it was on 'I', 'My' and more 'My's? At dat very moment the kingdom departed from him as seen in the following verse 33. And it was prophecied dat for 7 years, the kingdom shall be torned apart from him until he humbled himself.

And true enough in verses 34-37:

v34 And at the end of the time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and i blessed the Most High and praised and honoured Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom is from generation to generation.

v35 All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, "What have You done?"

And the beautiful part of this story is how God blessed him and restored him after he humbled himself before the Lord! Look on:

v36 At the same time my reason returned to me, and for the glory of my kingdom, my honour and splendor returned to me. My couselors and nobles resorted to me, I was restored to my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added to me.

And look wat Nebuchadnezzar did after the Lord restored him..

v37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down.

Hallelujah! Indeed God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble! Praise His name hallelujah! Yes, this is what I wanna leave all of us with before going in for NS tmrw. It is my prayer dat I will truly learn how to be humble before God, dat my heart will always be broken and my spirit always be contrite before Him. It is my same prayer for all of us at City Harvest as well. God bless you all~
