Looking Good.. For God~

I was reading a friend's blog and there was a part in it dat really caught my
attention. She mentioned something like looking good for God. Now let me tell you
dat i make effort to look as good as i can each time i go out or something but i
look good for others. Now when i read this, it was quite a revelation.

Looking good for God.. WOW... i never ever taught about it dat way you know wat i
mean.. like, i only thought dat hey God desires a personal relationship with me and
so yeah i read the Word, i pray, i praise and worship.. etc etc.. But God is not all
dat! Of cos of utmost importance is dat God wants to have a personal relationship
with each and every one of us. BUT, His care and concern for us doesnt stop there!

Dat's the great thing about God you see. He even cares about the number of strands
of hair on our head! And the bible says dat God even cares for the birds and provides
them food, and wat more us since we are human beings made in His very own image!

You Matter To God!

You my friend, MATTER TO GOD :) This i realised dat we being human, we matter to God
even more than the beasts of the field or the plants in the garden! And I tell myself
dat WHATEVER MATTERS TO GOD, MUST MATTER TO ME :)

So, having said dat, i matter to God.. so if i matter to God, then I must also matter
to me rite? Exactly! The bible thus says, that our body is the temple of God becos
the Holy Spirit lives inside us. All who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and
Saviour have this privilege of having the Holy Spirit come into ur body to dwell in
there. So if you matter to God, then YOU definitely have got to matter to yourself!

Every true Christian is called to serve God and be a disciple of God. Now to serve
God, we cannot be physically unfit is dat correct? Cos if you are unfit, then how can
you go about the Lord's business? Imagine.. barely 5 minutes your back pain.. or some
of you have stamina dat can barely last a few minutes.. you run to the toilet and you
are panting so hard already.. do a little bit of household chores and you cant take
it anymore..

So the Holy Spirit lives in us.. so we are like the house of God eh? And the bible
says dat we the disciples, make up the church! WE ARE THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST!
That's the difference~ Church and church building~

So back to the point, if we are the temple of God, shouldnt we then build this temple
up strong and beautiful on the outside??? If we take effort to look good for our dear
boyfren or girlfren or frens, THEN SHOULDNT WE MAKE EVEN MORE EFFORT TO LOOK
GOOD FOR GOD?? SHOULDNT WE MAKE MORE EFFORT TO BUILD UP OUR HEALTH FOR GOD??

Of cos, i'm not saying dat we become OBSESSED with ourselves! No. We do not live a
life dat is self-centred but one dat is Christ-centred! And Paul the great apostle
mentioned in the bible dat watever we do, whether we eat or drink, GIVE ALL THE
GLORY TO GOD! So, the next time you look in the mirror and beautify yourself, take
a little more time and extra effort~ :P Remember, you are taking care of the temple
of God :D

It is a fact, dat ppl are attracted to others who look good physically, whether it
is your body shape, or ur facial features etc etc~ It is a fact dat good looking
people are attractive :) And i think people who are physically good looking are
pretty attractive too~ BUT... BUT BUT BUT... physical beauty alone is worth nothing
if a person has got no character. You can be the most physically 'attractive' person
in the world but if your character sucks.. well, bottomline, you suck too~ Moreover,
physical beauty fades with time. When dat happens, you will truly be left with
NOTHING! All you have after you grow old, will be your character, which is why it is
so important to have character! But wat kind of character am i talking about? Wat
makes up a person's character? What is the utmost character? What is character??
Well, read on~

Christ-like Character & The Fruits Of The Spirit

And this brings me to my next point about spirituality. I used to say dat physical
beauty makes a person attractive, and good character makes a person even more
attractive. BUT..... and a BIG BUT at dat.. physical beauty and good character
alone, STILL DOESNT MATTER if you are not spiritual at all. A spiritual person has
the Holy Spirit living inside him or her and when he or she manifests the fruits of
the Spirit dat is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control, he/she becomes a REALLY ATTRACTIVE PERSON!

Now, when you become more spiritual and intimate with God, naturally, your character
will be moulded well~ When you hunger and thirst for God, when you are poor in Spirit,
you will seek God more and when you seek Him more, you will become more like
Him and manifest the fruits of the Spirit. And when you manifest the fruits of the
Spirit, dat results in Christlike character! AND CHRISTLIKE CHARACTER IS
EXXXXTREMELY ATTRACTIVE!!! IT DRAWS PPL CLOSER TO GOD! IT IS THE UTMOST GOAL IN
CHARACTER BUILDING! IT IS WHAT YOU AND I MUST STRIVE TO ACHIEVE!

When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, it also affects the way we feel and look.
There is this spiritual glow, or spiritual aura illuminating us! Dat is the power of
the Holy Spirit! Dat is evidence of His presence in us! Dat is why the lady at the
train ticket counter broke down in tears when Smith Wigglesworth approached her to
buy a ticket! The presence of God! Imagine ppl getting touched by the presence of
God when YOU are among them! WOW!

So besides physical beauty, it is important to have good character. BUT, good
character is just simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH. It is CHRISTLIKE CHARACTER dat we must
strive to achieve! I know of ppl whose characters are just great! But yet, they do
not have Christ in them. So you can have good character, but your good character
cannot save you from your sins! Your good character cannot book you an eternal place
in heaven! Your good character may be quoted by your lecturers in school or your
superiors at work when they write you appraisals or testimonials, but your good
character WILL NOT be written down in the Book Of Life!

ONLY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST CAN SAVE YOU FROM YOUR SINS! ONLY JESUS CHRIST CAN
SAVE YOUR SOUL! ONLY JESUS CHRIST CAN BE DAT ABSOLUTE GUARANTEE DAT YOU WILL NOT
SUFFER ETERNAL SEPARATION FROM GOD! JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE!
NO ONE COMES TO GOD THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH HIM! HALLELUJAH!

In Closing...

Last time, i used to tell myself dat one day, i will marry a gal who's not only good
looking, but also has good character. NOW, my standards have been raised to a whole
new level. NOW, i not only want to marry a gal who is drop dead gorgeous, who has a
great character, BUT who has CHRISTLIKENESS! It's like the blood of Christ flows
through her veins! Hahah! However, my idea of wat is attractive is subjective. My
idea of good looking may not exactly be the same as yours.. but dat doesnt matter,
cos i aint marrying you! HAHAHA! I'm marrying the gal whom God has predestined for me
and dat gal will be the MOST attractive woman in this world for sure~

I was telling my sis the other day dat DEFINITELY, i know my future wife is somewhere
out there in City Harvest Church~ For sure i know.. God has already predestined dat
I will someday find this gal and she will be led to me as well by God~ And wat God
has purposed, He will see it through~ So yeah i'll definitely keep my eyes open haha!
And this girl will be a great woman of God, a spiritual person, great features, great
body too.. hahaha! Someone i'd fall head over heels for WAHAHAHA!

i once said dat the best thing God ever gave me is His only Son Jesus Christ. The
next best thing He can ever give me is a wife whom He has predestined for me. The
third best thing... HAHAHA! Of cos dat would be my own child lah :P

Ok sorry i digressed... a little.. HAHAHA! So yeah, let's make it a point to keep
ourselves physically fit and also make efforts to look good and presentable. But more
than dat, let us always be poor in the Spirit! Let us never be satisfied with where
we are, let us desire to be in God's presence and His will even much more!
