Altissimo

I just had my horn adjusted again by boon chye. There's like something somewhere dat's
hindering the D note from singing. Somewhere down the structure, it's blocking the
production of dat note. It's just not ringing out like it's supposed to be. Anyway we'll try to
solve dat.

I've learnt my first altissimo note - F#. Starting to use the forked F also instead of the 3rd
riser key. The F#'s not as easy to get as when i use the extra right hand side key but it's
supposed to sound alot better. Better timbre and intonation. So dat's the first step in being
able to play altissimo. Then later will come G, G#, A (which is probably the hardest), A# and
so forth. The technical range of a sax is about 2 1/2 octaves. Hopefully, i can extend it to like
3 1/2 octaves or so. Dat'll be good enough.

All the 3 1/2 reeds i bought.. damn they all play too hard.. i'll keep them for awhile and see how
they perform again sometime. I'm getting closer to achieving my blues goal. Practised playing
two octaves of each scale. It's not dat easy at all to switch quickly with the pinky keys. Needa
be damn swift with it. Anyway, i'm looking forward to having the saxophone thoroughly calibrated
once more by boon chye. It's gonna take a whole day so gotta sacrifice a lesson for it but it's
worth the effort.
