Regret To Inform
Today was quite a jolly day. Stayed back for the first time to catch this 72 min long
documentary called "Regret To Inform" by director Barbara Sonneborn. It's about
the Vietnam War and more specifically, women who had lost their husbands during
the war who gave accounts and all. It was real sad man.. i look at the Vietnam War
with a hold new perspective to it. Not only were there accounts by American wives
but also the Vietnamese.
Some of the accounts were so damn touching such as this vietnamese lady who had been
forced prostitute herself to american soldiers during the war. Then there was this american
lady who received news dat her husband was badly injured during the fighting and he had
like wat an amputated left leg at the knee, multiple wounds and shrapnal in the brain and
he was unconcious in a coma. She called her physiologist or sumthin like dat and was told
to pray dat the guy dies asap.. can u imagine how sad dat was.. hell man..
And also, this Viet lady who was on the side of the Vietkong fighting the americans and south
vietnamese. She was ambushed and captured by the americans and they fuckin tortured her
real bad, hung her upside down from a pole by her toes and applied electrodes to her joints
and her nipples etc.. fucking cruelty man.. There were various other accounts by innocent
civilians who were taken away and tortured by american forces etc etc.. 5 year old boy blasted
to death by machine gun. Agent Orange etc etc.. not forgetting Napalm but it wasnt mentioned
in the docu. Fucking atrocities if you asked me.. looking at both sides, these US soldiers also
had no choice but to be forced to kill.. dat's the madness of war. Who's wrong or right.. dat's
not the point, the point is ppl suffer, ppl die, ppl are raped and tortured..
Maybe God should really send another flood to destroy the world. but no He wun cos he
promised not to. but he can and he should destroy the world and build a new one.
Nanook Of The North
Anyway, on to sumthin more light heartenin.. It's NANOOOOOK! hahah! i love his name~
i like this documentary~ i find it so funny.. no dialogue.. only black and white film and
written words. It's considered as the father of all documentaries. Produced in 1922 by
Robert J Flaherty, it's about life in the artic and the Eskimos. Nanook is this eskimo and
the docu is about the life he and his family leads in the cold Artic north of Canada.
I've Got The Blues
Finally blew the sax again after such a long hiatus because of the festive season and all..
went visiting etc~ Man i thought i'd suck real bad aftre like wat.. 4, 5 days not playing?
maybe more i dunno but yeah it surprised me. I felt good dat i played not too bad at all~
Practised the blues scales and u know wat? it wun be long before i master all the 12 scales
there and at 120bpm or sumthin! maybe i'll push for 150bpm!~ Anyway, i had fun with the
sax after such a long time. Improvised using the blues and played some weird tune dat
started from blues but ended up damn classical sounding hahha!
