The Most Astounding Discovery Yet!
Man, every single sax lesson always makes me look forward to the next one.. every single lesson is a new lesson where new things are discovered and all~ it's just simply fun and amazing~ it's some little secret dat only 3 ppl know for now~ i must say dat, this new discovery certainly shocked Danny a hell lot~
i finally got my BG elastic strap but i didnt have to pay a cent for it~ obviously things dun come free~ i actually exchanged my current neck strap with boon chye for it~ the guy prefers something more solid and stable for his perfoming~ anyway, this elastic strap is really good stuff! tried it once and it really takes the pressure off the neck~
also, i had boon chye test all my new reeds~ the twin pack V16s performed up to standard and were excellent! The plasticovers yielded 2 good ones, 2 soft ones and one dat was pretty hard. so right now, i got 4 strength 2 V16s which i can rotate for a long long time! best~
also, latest update: i am nearing my goal of playing all 36 scales at 120bpm. i've actually completed all of them at 120bpm but i wanna be sure dat they are at the top of total recall before i confirm dat i indeed am familiar with them :) slowly over time, i will have to increase the speed of it, slow but steadily~ currently, 120bpm is considered the very end of moderato and the start of allegro which are just italian terms for various speed ranges on the metronome with prestissimo being the fastest. hope to hit all 36 at the speed of presto which is about 168bpm - 200bpm :)
playing the scales at high speeds is not difficult when u do it gradually because u slowly sink into a faster momentum without feelin a huge surge in speed and dat should be the way to practise speed trainin. beginnin VERY SLOWLY :) the key to faster speed is all in the muscle memory :) and dat's the more difficult part about scales, rememberin the fingerings of each and making good sense of it :) but technique trainin cannot be rushed :) it definitely takes much time and practice :) let's start with an average of 5-8 hours each day~ we'll see how it goes :D
