Song Of The Prince

I just finished watching a marathon of a Korean drama serial. 55 episodes in all.. i survived :D
If you watched Dae Jang Geum, the Korean period drama set in the Joseon Dynasty starring Lee Young Ae, and if you liked it, then i recommend you to watch this drama series too.
From the same director and producers of Dae Jang Geum, this drama is entitled Seo Dong Yo (pronounced saw-dong-yo) or Song of Seodong and stars mainly Jo Hyun Jae (조현재) and Lee Bo Young (이보영). This time, the story is set in roughly around 600.BC plus, during the time when the Korean peninsula was ruled by 3 different kingdoms, Silla (shil-la/신라/新羅), Goguryeo (ko-goo-ryaw/고구려/高句麗) and Baekje (paek-jay/백제/百濟). Basically, the story is about a boy named Jang/SeodongGong(Jo Hyun Jae) who was born out of wedlock who later becomes the king of Baekje when he grows up. He also finds true love with the girl princess SeonHwa(Lee Bo Young) whom he grew up with; a girl who is the princess of Silla.
Jang overcomes the obstacles in his life as he slowly plots to regain his rightful position on the throne as King after an evil general (Buyo Sun) and his accomplices assassinate Jang's father (King Widook) and brother (Crown Prince Aja). With the support and assistance of close friends (Master Mokrasu, Daejang, Wangoo etc) and the reason for his living, the princess Seonhwa, Jang finally embraces his destiny.
In the picture, the words across read "그녀 자체가 체 인생입니다 / Keu-nyaw jha-cheh-ga cheh yin-saeng-im-ni-da" which literally means "This woman (as she is) is my whole life". It's this mantra which gives Jang the reason for living. You will see his love for the princess is ever unfailing and also how much Seonhwa sacrifices for Jang. The statement pretty much sums up the entire story~
You will see alot of "Common Grace" in the show; how the love of 2 lovers get tested through the fire of the trials and hardships of life and emerge stronger than before, never wavering. You'll see loyalty, integrity, how evil will always get its due reward, how righteousness will prevail over scheming plotting and selfish ambition, how love can make someone sacrifice all,
I've never watched Dae Jang Geum before but this one really captivated me. Although it was like really long, but the plot turns and twists were really well written and it is riveting enough to sustain the viewer throughout the whole 55 episodes.
But more so, this story truly has so much common grace in it that it just bowls me over! I'm like wow, now that is wat i call loving unconditionally. And when you see the extent at how 2 people can love each other so greatly, makes you wonder just how much more God's love for each and every one of us is :)
The song is the show's theme song. I'll blog it down once i get the translation :D And yea, i love the soundtrack! The score is written by the same composer who wrote the score for Dae Jang Geum as well~
Great cast, great soundtrack and great lessons to be learned from this story :D Enjoy :D
