New Found Joy
I just realised dat it has truly been a long long time ever since i sat down at the computer table and blogged. And i mean blogged thoughtfully. Not dat i dun blog thoughtfully at other times, but this time it's a little more different, sitting down and having many thoughts run thru my head and sieving thru them slowly and writing them down.
These past few weeks... incredibily incredibly busy and i mean like REAL busy.. i can say dat i've never been out of the house for so long a day for such a long time. The past 3 weeks plus, i've been going out of my house from morning till nite or evening.. half days spent in church rehearsing together with the team for POS and talent time for the emerge conference which was on the 1-3 of June.
It was an effort worth every bit and ounce of sweat, blood, injury and the likes. Emerge 2004 has been such an impactful event for me. I learnt so much man.. and i cant possibly list down all of them.. I've rekindled my love for drums and have come to accept the calling that i must strive to nuture this talent of mine. Recently, by the power of the Holy Spirit, i've discovered a love and another talent of mine in singing. Yes, i didnt mention wrong. It's singing~
Though NP didnt win POS and our team didnt win the top prize for the Talent Time finals, BUT, it was such a great experience. We did tough cheerleading style stunts, i played on all 3 drumsets of City Harvest Church, got to know a whole bunch of new friends, got talent spotted by one of the church's main guitarists for drums, discovered a whole new other bunch of gifts and talents dat God has given me, and just had an awesome time for 3 consecutive days!
The messages in those 3 days were ones of which i wun be forgetting in a long time to come. Dat during Emerge 2004, i've gotten a confirmation of my calling in music, finally understand where my heart lies and where my future will be, and so much more still. Really thank God for directing me to this church because, this church is gonna bring a great revival to the nations around us! The potential of the youth in this church waiting to explode for the glory of the Lord is absolutely tremendous! And we will build this church together in unity and the gates of hell WILL NOT AND CANNOT prevail against it!!!
Some time later this month, i'll be getting water baptised and HAHA, i think it's gonna be a really great and exciting experience~ i'm gonna be really nervous man~ So yeah i think i should come up with a list already of who i'm getting invite to witness this once in my lifetime event!
The next years to come are gonna be so exciting! I'm aiming to go on one of the mission trips before i get enlisted into NS. Recently, decided to join the Usher Ministry to serve for a year. Decided to join these guys first before music to get myself disciplined in the service of the church. These guys work really hard for the rest of the church. After i receive Ordinary Member status in church, then i'll seek the Music Ministry. Thinking of doing two ministries but we'll see how it goes.. it'll be tough.
The next few years, i'll be having a totally different set of plans than wat i set out to achieve after MCM. This time round, i doubt i'll be heading to Canada for further music studies but perhaps i'll go to the School of Creative Arts in Christian City Church, Oxford Falls, Australia. Dat way, it'll be a time of spiritual and musical growth there~ Al my plans have been dropped of rearranged because of the calling of the Lord~ All my previous plans hehe~ well, it's gonna be different now and definitely gonna be MORE EXCITING!! I've not regretted anything at all~ No, in the business of Jesus Christ my Lord, there is no regret. There is ALL TO GAIN, and NOTHING TO LOSE. As the great apostle Paul says, 'For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.'
