Sax Overhaul

Today at sax lesson, Boon Chye gave my sax a thorough cleaning. From the highest key stack
to the lowest! It was amazing just exactly how much oil and dirt the screws and rods were
covered with! These things were killing the vibrations of the saxophone and in effect killing the
sound production and producing resistance.

It's truly amazing cos the saxophone is now VERY VERY clean.. and the tone has been adjusted
to give a real singing quality about it~ cant wait to play some stuff tmrw.

Blackout

It is one of those nights you'll not forget in a long while.. the whole neighbourhood was covered
in darkness due to a huge power shutdown.. Upper Bukit Timah, Choa Chu Kang etc.. the MRT
trains like halted cos no power..

On my way back from school after photojourn, i was quite surprise as the bus approached my
stop cos it was just like the Malaysian roads! NO LIGHTS! And i'm like wah lau.. wat is this man??
The road lamps were down.. all houses in the area were down.. except for some of the condos at
Hume park.. otehr than dat.. everything was veiled in darkness!

For the first time in my life, i walked home in the dark.. it was an experience definitely. Something
i wasnt used to for a while. Coming back home, it was hot and stuffy cos all the fans couldnt work
and there was hardly any hot water.. It was exactly wat would have happened in a war scenario :)
So guess wat, no electricity equals MANY MANY THINGS..

1.   No computer.
2.   No Hot Water.
3.   No Cold Water.
4.   No Light.
5.   No Nothing Basically.

Bathing in the dark.. with some tealights only was an experience.. Candle light was like the only
thing with which we could see so thank God for dat. Throughout the whole time, i was just thinking
about God, about things dat have happened to me throughout the past 3 or so weeks.. very
thankful dat even in total darkness, I know God is there right beside me surrounding the place
with His Holy presense.

The first book and chapter i read from the Bible the day i got borned again was Psalms 139. In it,
i cant exactly remember word for word but, it says dat even if darkness should cover me, God will
still find me because the darkness is as bright as the day to Him. Hallelujah to dat :)

The best thing dat has happened to me since dat day was when my sis gave her life back to
Christ and my whole family started to find a day with which we get together to talk about wat
God has done in our lives, share our lives, talk about the Word.. it's amazing when u see
miracles happen before your eyes.. BETTER STILL, when you see MORE THAN 1 miracle happen
in a space of 3 weeks!!

In all circumstances, give thanks to God, good or bad because they all happen according to His
will for each and every one of us. So when we suffer, and when God seems far away, it doesnt
mean He has forsaken us, NO, because Hebrews 13:5 says dat He will never leave us nor forsake
us. Many times in fact, God allows suffering in our lives to test our faith in Him just the same way
He did to Job in the Bible. He allows sickness, tragedy and much persecution to happen to us to
test our faith in Him. So dat true gold will prove its worth after it has survived the fire :D

I guess the best reason why i remain so optimistic about life even in the bad times is because
God has made me seen the value of these bad experiences. Through bad experience, He makes
us rely on HIS STRENGTH and NOT OUR OWN! Because the strength of Man is weak, but strength
from God never weakens :D So the next time your day feels like crap and you just feel like cussing,
kicking something, or hitting someone or watever angry action, just bear in mind dat these
situations are one of the greater tests dat God allows to happen to us. In these situations,
let loose you faith in Him and he will surely see you through and you will emerge stronger
than ever before :D
