Esplanade and The Moon
just got back home from the Esplanade~ it's been such a while since i've been there~ just thought i'd go there and ease my mind a little~ before i write further, check out the moon again~ these days, it's really beautiful i tell u~ marvelous~
ok, so those musicians today were all the 'lao jiang'. Except two of them. But they played, english songs, evergreens~ and also very jazzy swing and bossa nova~ And they also played chinese oldies man! wah lau! i tell u those were damn good! and the female singer was beautiful man~ i meant her voice~ alrite ok she looked fantastic in 1940s Shanghai ballroom styled long gown~
ok so there was the drummer, old guy about early 50s or late 40s, double bassist in 40s, guitarist, a young chap in his 30s or so, the keyboardist, a MALAY guy in his 30s i think, damn solid! And lastly, wat looked like the eldest member of the band in his late 50s or early 60s, the saxophonist! Wah lau, i tell u, the guys who stood out tonight were the keyboardist and his finger fast poly rhythmic fills, the bassist and his captivating licks, and also the saxophonist. The sax guy had fantastic tone and his sound was beautiful man! i tell u, the atmosphere tonight was meant for romantic lovers~ The singer sang chinese numbers associated with the theme of 'Moon' given the recent Mid Autumn Fest~ So, they played chinese oldies music with a touch of jazz swing and all! sounds damn good! i love the theresa teng songs~ classics man!
Tmrw's the last night! i aint gonna miss it~ such beautiful music.. you can't miss it man~
