Yea dat's the title of the film dat i somehow or rather got dragged into and well by some twist of fate, lots of good things happened after dat~ Fyi, this film is actually a collaboration betw NP and Barcelona University. Apparently, some exchange students from Spain and the FSV students are working on this short film~ really hope it goes far this one :)

Man, u're not gonna believe wat i just went through today~ never before have i done anything like it. Have u ever wondered like how the matrix thignhy was done? the one whereby keanu reeves sticks his fingers into a wall of metallic liquid?? cool aint it? well dat's accomplished by using a technique called liquid chroma~ just as with the blue or green screen, it works basically by showing all the colours except the one on the screen. dat's how they filmed Memoirs of An Invisible Man :) however with dat blue screen, u can't walk thru it? ur body can't like pass thru the chroma, so dat's where liquid chroma comes into play~

Since liquid chroma can't be like suspended vertically in the air like a wall? it has to be obviously lying horizontal to the ground. Thus, the challenging part is whereby the actor has to be strapped and hoisted up using some platform and then being lowered manually or automatically into the liquid. And for this shot, i had to be stripped naked except for white underwear (my character appears nude in the film). Note that the colour they used was white. so wat folowed was a back breakin 4 or so takes. i positioned myself on the board, they hoisted me up over the liquid chroma by pulley system and lowered me down slowly, and so it seemed as though i was walkin 'towards' the wall. and i had to dip my fingers into the liquid and pass my arms thru to give the effect dat i'm walkin thru a wall, and then i had to completely pass thru shoulders and head and all into the liquid. so i got yea wet and all fuzzy up in the nose and brains. my ears were flowing white liquid made of non toxic acrylic paint~

After filming my back shot, they filmed one with a side profile and this time i had to do another strenuous balancing act~ man it was bloody tiring man, and i swear i've never had my back and ab muscles work so hard before. even my perspective of acting had to shift a little to make the act look real. like once my fingers and hands pass thru the liquid, i cannot take it out anymore, which was really difficult because ur angle of perspective just changed. it was a real challange making "Koba" look like he was passing thru a wall, escapin from his torture. man, i started shivering after the 3rd or 4th take but hey it was so damn fun experiencing it that i would have given it another few more shots haha! And to my astonishment, one of the lecturers said dat i'll be on display in the digital effects studio for many years to come. i wondered wat he meant by that until he told me dat, they'll use this example to teach their students bout the liquid chroma digi effect~ and hey dat made my day man~ hahah! i'm so lucky to have done sumthin dat's not been done before on campus~ now dat is sumthin to speak of hahah! MATRIX HERE I COME!! LOL!
